The Menominee-Delta-Schoolcraft Community Action Agency Governing Board is looking for a new board member from Menominee County.
The 18-member Governing Board is made up of residents from Menominee, Delta and Schoolcraft counties. The agency’s bylaws require a third of the board is represented by low-income consumers served by the agency, a third by public officials or their representatives, and a third by the private sector.
The current vacancy is for a Menominee County resident who is represents the consumer sector.
The nonprofit agency provides eight programs, including Early Childhood, senior volunteer programs, Senior Services, Weatherization and Client Services.
“We are fortunate to have a governing board that is made up of caring and able members. Finding a new board member from Menominee County will continue our strong and important service throughout our three-county service area,” said CAA Executive Director Julie Moberg.
The board meets eight times a year, with all but one meeting taking place in Escanaba. The next meeting is set for Jan. 10.
“Board members bring their own expertise to our board, and help act as our eyes and ears in the communities we serve,” Moberg said.
