The Most Satisfying Moments When I Volunteer

LOOKING FOR MORE SENIOR COMPANIONS

WE'RE ON FACEBOOK!!!

Senior Companion volunteers provide companionship and add richness to the lives of our clients. They service in faith-based settings, assisted living homes, nursing homes, foster care homes, CAA Adult Day Services and private homes. Senior Companion's efforts are aimed at helping others live as fully and independently as possible. They are focused on easing the loneliness by visiting and talking about old times or playing a game of cards...just everyday living things that a senior might need some help with...just being a friend. Efforts are aimed at helping others live as fully and independently as possible.

Senior Companions are income-eligible persons 55 years of age and older who have a desire to assist other seniors. They volunteer 15-40 hours a week giving respite to over-burdened caregivers.

Prior to receiving their volunteer assignments, prospective companions receive 40 hours of training and attend regular, monthly in-service training. Companions are paid a non-taxable stipend and transportation reimbursement. They receive an annual physical, a meal each workday and insurance coverage. Volunteers are honored at an annual Recognition Banquet.
