Parental Opportunities

Parents are welcome to participate in a variety of opportunities that are available in the Early Childhood Program!

Parents are the first teachers of their children, and actively participate in setting goals for their child at Head Start. From volunteering in your child’s classroom, to completing your GED, to participating in governance through Center Parent Committees and/or Policy Council, parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s school experience!

Along with many child development activities in the classroom, teachers and parents will work together to set individual goals for each child. Parents also have the opportunity to participate in parent enrichments, program governance, father-involvement activities, or through volunteering. Children with special needs may receive services from therapists at the center. ECP staff are also available to work with parents on advocating for their child and answering their questions.
