The Menominee-Delta-Schoolcraft Community Action Agency has received a Michigan State Housing Development Authority $30,000 Neighborhood Enhancement Program grant targeting neighborhoods in the city of Escanaba. Taking part in the symbolic awarding of the grant, upper photo, during Governor’s Day Thursday at the U.P. State Fair in Escanaba were, from left, MSHDA Executive Director Earl Poleski, Escanaba Mayor Marc Tall, MDSCAA Executive Director Julie Moberg and Escanaba City Manager Patrick Jordan. The funding will provide income-eligible, single-family, owner-occupied homeowners in Escanaba with porch improvements, exterior paint, windows, doors, minor repairs and accessibility ramps. Funded projects should be completed by fall and make a noticeable difference within the community. City residents seeking more information should call Naomi Fletcher at MDSCAA, 786-7080, ext. 151, starting Thursday, Aug. 24. Fletcher was part of another photo, which can be found below.
